Patrick Joseph, M.D.
Dr. Patrick Joseph is the medical director and chief physician of the International Traveler’s Medical Clinic in San Ramon, California. He was the founder of ITMC in 1989 and continues to be responsible for the medical supervision of all daily activities.
Dr. Joseph is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco, and maintains a private practice for the treatment of clinical infectious diseases in San Ramon, California. He is board certified in internal medicine, infectious diseases, epidemiology, medical management and quality assurance.
Dr. Joseph has been treating patients with international and domestic infectious diseases for over 20 years, and has served on numerous local and national committees for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Joseph has done extensive research in the field of infectious diseases and preventative medicine, and has published over 70 medical papers in United States literature.
Marta Cogley
Marta Cogley is the Executive Assistant to Patrick Joseph, M.D. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration which she received in 1995. Ms. Cogley was instrumental in the design, patient flow and administrative structure of the ITMC. She continues to play an active role in all aspects of the clinic operations, including problem solving, patient scheduling and finance.
Kris Mendes, R.N., B.S.N.
Kris Mendes has been working in various areas of nursing for over 20 years, including Children’s Hospital in Oakland, John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, and for an internist in San Ramon. She has been trained in travel medicine, and has worked at ITMC since 2004. She enjoys travel medicine conferences to incorporate the latest information on vaccines, malaria risk and prophylaxis, special needs patients, high altitude, and other complex medical aspects of travel health. She is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) and the International Association of Medical Assistance to Traveler’s (IAMAT).
